What percent of the world's oil reserves would America control if we invade Iran and Venezuela?

I've read that we'd control over 70% of the total oil reserves in the world, both directly and indirectly.

Could we use that control to bankrupt China and Russia eventually? What percent of the world's oil reserves would America control if we invade Iran and Venezuela?
Since you answered your own question, I will comment that reasoning like yours is the reason the U.S. is hated by most of the world and also the reason your type of ';leader'; is soon to be thing of the past. We have no right to invade other Country's to rob them of their natural resources. Your line of thought is frightening and so very wrong. What percent of the world's oil reserves would America control if we invade Iran and Venezuela?
Zero.

USA cannot control Iraqi oil.

You can bankrupt China and Russia by only one way: start the Greatest Depression Ever in the USA.
Why invade Venezuela? We have one of the world's largest oil reserves in Alaska.....one that we can't tap into, thanks envirogonementalists!
Saudi Arabia produces the most.

Iran and Venezuela also produce a lot.

We put all of our own oil in reserves because when everyone else runs out, we'll have it stockpiled and then we can control the world. That's why we don't use any of our own now.
the same as we do now, invading Iran and Venezuela wouldn't give us control of their oil. http://www.dryflypolitics.com
no, 40% tops, but Iraq isn't exactly going to plan, and that was defenseless.
Until China realizes that it's easier to invade the US with it's billions of people than to pay the high oil prices?

Then China would control 80% of the oil... and we'd be slaves.
That's actually probably not true. If I'm not mistaken Venezula controls about 12% and Iran 20-30%. Saudi Arabia is the largest single oil-holding country.

And to answer your question no we couldn't bankrupt China and Russia for a number of reasons.

1.) China is our biggest trading partner and the source of the vast majority of our industrial and consumer goods.

2.) Russia still has enough nuclear submarines to wipe every American off the face of the planet and turn this country into a radioactive dustbowl.

3.) Even if we took Venezula AND Iran; China is looking into new oil resources in East Africa as well as the reserves it gets from other trading partners.

Hope that helps.

Edit for Dale D - Our reserves wouldn't even cover our own oil usage for even a year. We're not going to ';control the world'; on it.
Since when has this country tried to control the world oil or threaten Venezuala.. If we attacked Iran , are you saying its NOT becaouse they are a threat to our security?? Right now in Wyoming , we have an oil reservoir larger than Saudi's if it was about oil don't you think the US government would tell the EPA to deal with it and drill ...
I don't think it as quiet wise. Irak is burning.Afghanistan is burning.North Korea is still a threat.

Why would someone really intelligent do such a dumb thing ?

Invading Venezuela and Iran seems to be a good solution but doing so in Irak and Afghanistan was easy too.Today Washington is still struggling to pull out....
Are you nuts?

4 national war fronts on two continents????
we dont control any other country's oil but the US. Lie berals try to imply that with Iraq.. but no one has ever been able to provide one iota of proof.. because its simply not true
Enough....
Probably correct. The problem is, we can't control our cities, our schools, our food supply, al Queda, Irag, Israel, gas prices, etc. How are we supposed to control Iran and Venezuela.

Sign up, Skippy, and go kick some butt. Or do you think talikng will get the job done?
Instead of spending money trying to control the dwindling supply of oil in the world, how about we start weaning ourselves off oil? We need to start developing a sustainable energy source that will make it so we don't have to invade other countries and start expensive and deadly conflicts....
